Family Lifestyle Session at First Landing State Park Virginia Beach Photographer
I have a sweet, sweet Virginia Beach family lifestyle session to feature for you today!
The Lovett Family contacted me to book a family lifestyle session after I photographed a family maternity session for Mom's sister last summer at Chick's Beach. Charlie (Mom) loved the photos I captured for her sister's family, and wanted a similar session for her own sweet little crew - only fall themed. So, we booked a date for early December at First Landing State Park.
Despite a chilly start with a few sprinkles here and there, we pressed on and captured some fun, and silly, family moments among the wooded trails and unique waterfront vistas at the park. Their darling girl had just turned one, so we took a few extra photos of her at this sweet stage.
The fall color was gorgeous! Mom did an awesome job with the wardrobe for the whole family, which complimented those rich golden autumn tones.
Even though it was a cloudy, gray day, their images turned out with a warm and cozy feel. A whole lot of family love, some silly antics, and a dash Photoshop magic did the trick! ;)
I loved photographing this lovely little family! I am so happy I got to meet them, and can I just say that this entire family is ridiculously gorgeous? I mean, I was seriously smitten with the Dierstein's at their beach maternity session, and then this stunning crew rolls up. Look how adorable those little siblings are!! I bet they are just too cute for words when they get together their cousins. I'd probably just melt into a puddle if I had them all in front of my camera at once.

Today I have a super sweet newborn lifestyle session to share with you! This baby girl and her family stole my heart and gave me a case of baby fever. And that pooch?! The sweetest!
Mallory contacted me a couple of months ago to schedule an at home newborn lifestyle session for late November. Her sweet baby girl, Penelope, would be a month old then, but it would be the first time her daddy was home to spend time with her. He was on deployment during her birth, so Mallory wanted to make sure they had some beautiful family photos to celebrate his homecoming, and their first days as a family of three. I am a huge baby lover, and have a soft spot for military families (I know the struggles first hand), so I couldn't wait for our session!
I spent an hour with them as they snuggled, soothed and loved all over sweet Miss P. My heart just melted over the way her daddy looked at her, and the way her mama soothed her cries. And their pup was so gentle and eager to be a part of it all - I fell in love with her too!
I honestly wish I shot more newborn lifestyle sessions. They always tug at my heart so. What is more precious than those first few days with a newborn?!
I adore this beautiful family and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them. I am so happy that we were able to create these images so that they can hold onto these cherished fleeting moments for years to come.

I met the Smith family for a fall photo session in Williamsburg over Thanksgiving weekend. They are alumni of the College of William & Mary, and were in town visiting family for the holiday. We decided the William & Mary campus was the perfect spot for some gorgeous fall photos and we met there for our session.
It was a brisk, breezy day, but so beautiful with all the color in the leaves! I love to keep my sessions moving, so that no one gets bored. We kept their kiddos busy playing games and running through leaves. Not only did it produce some awesome giggles, but it kept them warm in the wind too!
Perfect childhood moments. Can you think of a better way to spend a golden fall day?
I loved getting to know this beautiful family! I am so glad they schedule a lifestyle session for their visit to CW! It is one of my absolute favorite locations for fall sessions. The scenery never disappoints! And I got to sneak in a side trip for some delicious Colonial Williamsburg ginger cakes too - yum!

I met the most beautiful little family for a mini session at Oak Grove Park a couple of weeks ago! Grandma had purchased a gift certificate for their mini session - what an awesome gift! We scheduled their portraits in time to take advantage of the beautiful fall color, and to commemorate this cutie's first birthday!
I've always been in love with ginger-haired babies and this little one stole my heart at hello!
Our mini session was short and sweet, but full of beautiful images and happy memories nonetheless. It was the perfect amount of time for a busy one year old, for sure. I, on the other hand, could have photographed these lovely folks all night. (Bring me all the redheads please!)

The temps are dropping, the leaves are changing and now is the perfect time for some updated family photos! I love shooting this time of year. Not only does Mother Nature put on a fantastic display, but I get to see some of my favorite families for their yearly portraits, and it's a great time to snuggle up for some close connections and sweet shots.
I met this gorgeous family for some updated family portraits, as well as one year photos for their sweet baby girl. The landscape at Regent University are pretty year round and with the tree cover, we were able to stay dry despite a brief light rain shower.

Several weeks ago I shared this maternity beach session with you, along with my excitement over having a new nephew on the way. And today, I finally have some newborn baby pics to share! This sweet bundle of melt-your-heart goodness was born in late July.
He is absolute perfection, and has the best big sister any dude could ask for.
His parents are pretty rad too.
Look how sweet! Big sis' likes to sing to him.
It has been a few years since we've had a baby in the family. My own "babies" are all big kiddos now, so I am eating those baby snuggles up!
I am so happy for my sister and brother-in-law! It's wonderful to have a healthy new babe to smooch on, and I'm SO excited to watch him grow up. <3

It's that time again! Time to say farewell to summer. I am sad to see her go, but I can't wait for the cool, crisp fall weather!
That gorgeous warm color always makes me swoon. Leaves crunching underfoot, steamy mugs of spiced goodness, sweaters and boots - I love it all!
My appointment calendar is nearly full for the remainder of the year, with family sessions, engagement portraits and fall weddings. If you need holiday portraits, be sure to snag one of the few session appointments I have left before they're gone!
