I am a little behind on blogging, as the fall madness continues with a full schedule of weddings and sessions, but I couldn't wait to share all this gorgeousness with you! I travelled to the Charlottesville area earlier this month to photograph a stunning wedding at Veritas Vineyard & Winery. 

If you have never been to Veritas, I highly recommend the trip! The vineyard is nestled in the mountains just outside of Charlottesville in Afton, VA. The service at the winery is impeccable, the food and wine are delicious and the views are absolutely spectacular! Seriously, it is pretty dang amazing. And what a perfect location for a wedding! I am so grateful to my talented friend Beth, of 3catsphoto, for inviting me to join her at Jackie & Josh's mountain winery wedding. We had a fabulous time shooting together and I was swooning all day long. (Charlottesville peeps -, Beth is amazing! Be sure to give her a shout if you are looking for engagement, wedding, family or senior photos). 

Jackie and Josh were so sweet and laid back - they were just adorable together. And good gracious they planned a spectacular event! The sage green, gray and cream color palette was delightfully elegant. The reception details were graceful and charming , and the florals by Blue Ridge Floral Design were simply breathtaking! I really can't do it all justice with words, so I'll just let you feast your eyes on these sneak peeks. Grab a cup of something delicious - you may want to linger a while. 

It was such a fantastic day! I am already missing the mountains. I am SO thankful for the opportunity to work with Jackie & Josh and all of the amazing vendors at this beautiful wedding. I am also very grateful to Beth for so graciously inviting me to shoot with her at this event. I can't wait to shoot my next mountain wedding!

I wish Jackie & Josh many more happy days filled with love and laughter.

Heather & Cory's Pennsylvania Church Wedding

I've got some sneak peeks to share today, from Heather and Cory's gorgeous Pennsylvania Church wedding this month. The whole trip was quite an adventure (more on that later), and the wedding was absolutely stunning! I think I squealed out loud with excitement when I saw the church, ha ha. 

I shot Heather & Cory's engagement session last winter and I was SO honored when they asked me to shoot their summer wedding! We hit it off right away, and had a blast at their engagement shoot. I just knew their wedding would be amazing. 

They were married at the First Presbyterian Church of Sharon, PA, in Heather's home town. (The town was absolutely charming by the way, just NW of Pittsburgh). Their formal wedding was not only gorgeous, but also perfectly un-stuffy, and so full of love and laughter! I couldn't be happier for these two wonderful human beings, whose love is so genuine and true. 

Their family and friends gathered from far and wide to celebrate and wish them well. It was a heart-warming sight to see!

And check out that stunning wedding party! They were hilarious and had me cracking up during formals. 

Their reception was held downtown at the Corinthian - also gorgeous. I loooooved the dark wood and swanky rich jewel tones in this venue! The early 1900's nostalgia was charming, and the catering was delicious.

Today I am rolling out some peeks from the amazing weekend I had. You see, my gorgeous niece, Ashley, did a thing. A BIG thing. She married this awesome guy, Chris, at a beautiful mountain winery near Lynchburg. (By the way, you can catch their engagement photos here.) It was fantastically fun! Annnnnd, I had the honor of photographing the wedding for them! 

It was SO lovely - the weather was perfect, the food was marvelous, the sunset was stunning, puppies were involved...I'm tellin' ya, it was an outstanding affair.  I couldn't wait to share some images from the festivities, so without further ado...here are some highlights from Ashley and Chris's Lazy Days Winery wedding. (You might want to grab a cuppa. I went a little crazy on the sneak peeks).

I loved the rustic setting at the winery, and they had a huge wedding party, which totally adds to the fun, festive atmosphere. It was one big ol' party!

Aren't they gorgeous?! Gah, so happy for these two!

Can you believe this crazy girl DIY'd all of the details - and almost the whole weekend! She did have help from some amazing family and friends, who pitched in to make it a perfect event.

We snuck away from the reception after dinner to capture this gorgeous sunset.

It was such a wonderful weekend! It was an honor to be trusted with capturing their wedding memories, and one that I enjoyed immensely.

Small family weddings are some of my favorite. Don't get me wrong, I love a grand affair complete will opulent details and sweeping views of a stunning venue. But a quaint gathering of those you hold most dear on your wedding day is sometimes all you need. 

I had the honor of shooting this gorgeous Sandbridge beach cottage wedding for Lindsay and Brandon. With the help of family and friends, they were able to plan the whole thing from North Dakota. And you know what? It was perfect. Down to every last detail, this destination beach wedding with blue and silver accents was simply perfect. 

We were blessed with a beautiful blue sky, warm sunshine, and a gentle breeze. The beach cottage decor was accented by simple elegant touches and beautiful white florals. And oh the warmth and love surrounding this union was palpable! It really was a perfect day and I couldn't be happier for Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
