Fall Photo Sessions - Virginia Beach - Norfolk - Chesapeake 

It's beginning to feel like fall around here! Pumpkin everything is popping up wherever you turn, sweater weather is making it's debut and the leaves are starting to show that glorious autumn color. I love shooting in the fall in Hampton Roads! The natural backdrops can't be beat for family sessions, engagement sessions and weddings too! 

This season is nearly booked for me with weddings and sessions, but I do have a few appointments open, so act fast if you'd like to schedule a fall portrait sessions before it's too late! I am looking forward to seeing some of my favorite clients and making new friends too. Family and couples lifestyle sessions are laid back and fun.  I love working with my clients to bring out natural expressions and authentic personalities. I always keep things moving so kiddos stay engaged and happy. It's not unusual for them to ask if we can do it again soon!

One of the best things about my job, aside from getting to meet so many interesting people, is being able watch families grown and change over the years. I love seeing the same clients year after year, and learning all about how their interests, hobbies and family dynamic have changed.

 This beautiful family has been with me almost from the beginning of my business and it's a treat to see them each year!

Mom plans a session each year to document Jack's growth. We've done some fun shoots! We started with superheroes and moved onto a bookworm phase, a new puppy and this year, we headed to Fort Monroe for some slightly more mature portraits. (Want more? See a previous child portrait session at Red Wing Park.)

Jack has such a great smile and a kind heart. He is a good kid with an awesome mama. He enjoys school, soccer, books, hanging out with friends, and playing with his Great Dane. I know he'll do great things with his life. I can't wait to see what next year brings!

First Landing Virginia Beach Engagement Portraits

Well now that the crazy season has kicked in, I am up to my eyeballs in editing! I am working long days trying to crank out session galleries as efficiently as possible, while juggling wedding & portrait season appointments and all of the other "to do's" on my very long list. I wanted to share some peeks from this amazing engagement session though, so I'll keep this short and sweet. Getting right to the good stuff!

Ariana & Jeff were so sweet and natural together! I loved working with them. We met at First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach. They were laid back and open to all of my creative shenanigans - which makes my job tons of fun! Their strong connection and deep love for one another is so evident in these images. I hope they cherish them for years to come.

Congrats on your engagement A & J! I wish you all the best that life and love have to offer.

Several weeks ago I shared this maternity beach session with you, along with my excitement over having a new nephew on the way. And today, I finally have some newborn baby pics to share! This sweet bundle of melt-your-heart goodness was born in late July.

He is absolute perfection, and has the best big sister any dude could ask for.

His parents are pretty rad too. 

Look how sweet! Big sis' likes to sing to him. 

It has been a few years since we've had a baby in the family. My own "babies" are all big kiddos now, so I am eating those baby snuggles up!

I am so happy for my sister and brother-in-law! It's wonderful to have a healthy new babe to smooch on, and I'm SO excited to watch him grow up. <3

I realize that everyone is in back to school, holiday planning, pumpkin spice mode, but I still have tons of summery beach sessions to share. I am super excited for all of the fall sessions and weddings I have lined up - I LOVE fall. But my blog posts just aren't in fall mode yet. So bear with me! My fall calendar is full, except for 2 appointments and maybe a mini or two if I can squeeze them in. So hop on it if you'd like a fall session - there's no time to waste. 

Now onto this gorgeous family and their amazing beach mini session! The Wilcox family was referred to me by some of my long time clients and favorite families of all time. And let me tell you, their session was in my top 3 for this year! We had a blast playing at sunset on the beach and they brought their A game for sure. They were up for all kinds of creative fun and we were able to pack a ton of crazy goodness into this mini session! I do my best work when clients tell me they trust my vision and they aren't tied to perfection. A candid moment of an authentic soul is far more beautiful than any fabricated picture perfect portrait I could set up.
